The Cottage Private Day Nursery was founded in May 1990 and has since become one of the county's leading childcare providers. Its success to date is due to a dedicated and committed team coupled with extremely passionate and 'hands on' proprietors, providing the direction required to maintain the caring and quality environment that The Cottage is known for.

The Cottage now has three locations ...

Bedford Street, Derby

The original site at Bedford Street Derby started life as a 30-place facility. This has since become a three building site which combined is registered for 93 places. This location also includes central offices and a BTEC registered training centre for training our own staff in Key Skills, Assessor and NVQ training.

Mansfield Road, Heanor

The Cottage acquired this site in March 2001. This was an established 34-place nursery with a 40 place After School service, running for the past ten years. We are currently refurbishing the facility and expect to complete this summer 2002.

Huffen Heath, Mickleover, Derby

Acquired as an ex residential home in August 2001 this property has undergone a radical refurbishment programme and is now fully operational as a 60-place nursery.

As a consequence of the recent expansion a new role of Area Manager has been introduced. This will ensure that all best practices, experience, Investors in People, Policies etc are all maintained and delivered consistently.
