Our nursery staff are a dedicated team who have a genuine love of children. The majority of staff are either NNEB, BTEC or NVQ 3 qualified. The remainder are undergoing NVQ training at our training facility.

NNEB - National Nursery Examination Board
This level of qualification is that of a qualified Nursery Nurse. It is a two year course covering a wide range of childcare issues e.g. development, education and caring. Students spend time in placements of all kinds e.g. schools, Social Services, nurseries, private day care and private homes. They are trained to cover 0-8 years.

Btec - British Training and Education Council
Another route to becoming a qualified Nursery Nurse. Again, this is a two year course covering similar issues to those above but is more theory based.

NVQ Level 3 - National Vocational Qualification
Another route to becoming a qualified Nursery Nurse. However, this is generally gained through practical experience when working. Candidates are assessed on practical activities with the children and produce written work to show their understanding.

NVQ Level 2
Qualified Care Assistant. This is gained in a similar way to level 3 but is at a lower level.

Our own registered BTEC Training Centre provides the NVQ 3 and NVQ 2 training for our own staff to achieve these awards. This ensures that all staff are qualified or are undergoing training. Our commitment to training staff is reflected in our IiP award. We are striving constantly to develop staff and give them a high level of knowledge and skills.

Our staff are carefully selected to ensure your child will have the very best of childcare at all times. All staff have a personal training plan to ensure that there are no skills gap and that their training is always current and representative of today's environment. Staff are based in an aged group setting so your child can build up a good relationship with them. Our staff are friendly and outgoing and make children and parents welcome in the nursery.

We must not forget the team in the kitchen. The nursery cook and assistant have undergone specific food hygiene training and continue to refresh this knowledge at regular intervals. Both cook and assistant are vital members of the overall nursery team, their flexibility with the varying menus/diets that the nursery provide is of great value.
