The
Cottage achieved this award in February 2000, the official
presentation was Wednesday 17th May 2000.
IiP is an award given to companies who invest in their staff
through training and support to ensure the success of the
organisation. IiP inspectorate check for such things as training
plans, business plans and conduct interviews with management
and staff to ensure all staff are working towards the same
goals. The recent award is a credit to all of the team at
The Cottage and it reflects the commitment given to achieving
such an important award.
A sample of what IiP includes ....
Creation of Training plans for staff employed, ensuring
that there are no skill gaps for the task employed.
Creation of business plans, setting of objectives and goals.
Customer communication in the way of Customer Questionnaires.
Staff Communication in the way of Employee Surveys.
Introduction of staff appraisals
One member of staff quoted, "The team were keen to
achieve the award because it meant that all staff would
benefit personally as well as the business, therefore achieving
success by working together. This ultimately provides a
standard of child care that we hope is unparalleled".
IiP accreditation will last for a period of three years. It
then becomes optional to the employer whether to re inspected
for continued accreditation. The decision has already been
taken here at The Cottage, to make make IiP part of our
continuous improvement strategy.
